Local business owners from across Arizona are meeting with legislators at the state capitol today for Small Business Day.
The event allows small business owners to meet with legislators to be informed about bills that will affect them.
One agenda item they are watching is Senate Bill 1449, which would stop product liability lawsuits against sellers who had no role in the manufacturing of a product.
Senate Majority Leader Rick Gray and State House Majority Leader Warren Peterson will talk with small business owners about legislation that is both helpful and harmful to their business. Marina DeWit from the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Advocacy and Delia Gomez from the SBA’s Phoenix office will speak at the event’s luncheon.
The event will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the state capitol in the senate majority caucus room. The costs to attend the day’s program are $25 per person for National Federation for Independent Business (NFIB) members and their guests and $30 per person for non-members.
