Come to Musical Instrument Museum tonight to hear the combination of neo-soul, jazz, and swing bubbling over with energy and verve.

Davina and the Vagabonds are a jazz blues band based in the Twin Cities, Minnesota and formed in 2006. The band consists of Davina Lozier (formerly Sowers), Zack Lozier (trumpet), Steve Rogness (trombone), Connor McRae Hammergren (drums), and Andrew Foreman (upright bass).

Davina is described as “a little Amy Winehouse-worthy neo-soul here, a little Great American Songbook-influenced songcraft there” by the Rolling Stones and “One of the most distinctive and expressive vocalists to come around in a while, with tight backing from the Vagabonds” by the Phoenix Blues Society.

This fun and frisky music will take you back to the 50s and 60s with their retro music. The band brings nostalgia to older generations and fresh, new music to younger folks – one thing we’re sure of, you won’t be bored!

The band is famous for their high-energy live shows and level A musicianship. Their influences includes the greats such as Fats Domino, Aretha Franklin, Tom Waits and many more.

Don’t miss the show today, their clean sounds and emphasis on acoustic instruments is novel to both blues and jazz worlds and sets the show closer to New Orleans than to Chicago.
