The evil Carabosse curses princess aurora. Upon aurora’s 18th birthday, she will prick her finger and die. the lilac fairy weakens the curse and proclaims aurora will fall into a deep sleep for 100 years to be awakened by the kiss of a prince. upon aurora’s 16th birthday, she is presented with a spindle from a stranger and, taking the gift, pricks her finger. the whole court falls into a deep sleep. 100 years later, prince desire is led to the castle where he battles the evil carabossse and kisses the sleeping princess, upon which everyone wakes up. a beautiful and joyous wedding ceremony follows.
