The reunion show features an impressive lineup. Additionally, fans can catch Boston hardcore veterans The Freeze, plus Scorpion vs. Tarantula and Sick in the Head. Furthermore, the band will also perform at Sidewalk Surfer’s annual celebration on October 18.

Blanche Davidian originally formed around 2000 and quickly became a fixture in Phoenix’s rock scene. Moreover, they gained national attention by performing at SXSW in 2004. The band also shared stages with numerous touring acts before going on hiatus in 2012.

Their unique sound blends rock and roll with glam, psychedelic, new wave, and metal elements. Subsequently, this created what many described as controlled chaos wrapped in punk energy.

The Reunion Story

Two original members, vocalist Jamie Monistat VII and lead guitarist Mike Parkin, initiated the reunion. As Parkin explained to his bandmate, ten years gave him perspective on their musical potential. Consequently, they reunited with guitarist Olsen, bassist Tom Reardon, and drummer Mike “Munk” Soucy.

The band stopped performing when personal circumstances, including family health issues, made continuing impossible. However, there was never bad blood between members. Instead, they maintained friendships throughout their time apart.

New Music and Future Plans

The reformed group is already creating new material. According to guitarist Olsen, getting the members together naturally leads to songwriting. Meanwhile, the new lineup brings fresh energy while maintaining their signature sound.

Unlike their earlier career, the band plans a more selective approach to performing. They understand the value of balancing music with adult responsibilities. Nevertheless, they remain committed to creating quality music and meaningful performances.

Phoenix music fans have eagerly awaited this return. The band’s reputation for energetic live shows and innovative sound made them local favorites. Therefore, Friday’s performance represents both a comeback and a new chapter for Blanche Davidian.
