El Puente Fest will be held online this Sunday

The word “Puente” literally means “Bridge” which an universal metaphor of transformation, enlightenment, freedom and even our passing into the afterlife.

El Puente Fest or the Bridge Festival is a unique cultural experience with music and dance performances from around the world. This year’s festival will be held entirely online in order to practice safe social distancing during this time of quarantine!

Cultural Coalition Inc invites all to join virtually at this year’s El Puente Fest. You can watch El Puente Fest from home on Facebook Live! or Youtube on May 23, 2021 at 2 p.m.

You will be able to enjoy a variety of pre-recorded performances, including dance troupes and music ensembles from local Valley schools. This unique festival brings people together by sharing diverse music, dance, art, and cultural traditions.

Festival of filmed performances include:

  • Children’s art and game activities.
  • Dance performances by Quetzalli Ballet Folklórico, Indigenous Enterprise, Ollin Yoliztli Dance Academy and Primavera Dance Company.
  • Music performances by Kyrene Middle School Mariachi, Corona del Sol Steel Drum Band, Desert Sounds Mariachi, Harmony Project Youth Group, and Mariachi Rubor.
  • Storytelling with Violet Duncan, author.
  • A parade of oversized puppets, musicians, and masked performers, including the Fabulous Fridas!
