Arizona Black Rodeo

Arizona Black Rodeo, in its 11th year, is one of the largest and most popular African-American cultural and educational events in Arizona, having attracted as many as 9,000 rodeo fans across a weekend of fun and exciting Western experiences designed for the entire family.

In 2021, the event drew thousands of enthusiastic rodeo fans. The event highlights local and national African American rodeo competitors. There will be two shows Friday, September 2nd 7:00PM and Saturday, September 3rd, 7:00PM featuring bull riding, tie down roping, steer wrestling, steer undecorating, ladies barrel racing, relay races and the crowd favorite mutton bustin’ & calf scramble for the little ones.

Round up your family and friends and join us for the “hottest show on dirt.” The Arizona Black Rodeo is fun and exciting for the entire family and rated triple “E” Educational, Entertaining and for Everyone. The Rodeo runs on average 2 hours 15 mins.

The AZBR Committee is committed to keeping the contributions of African-American western heritage alive by offering a fun, family-oriented event for residents and visitors alike.
